The space

Quinta do Pé Descalço

You arrive, park in the shade and pause for a second. There's the wind, the birds, and little else. You take off your shoes, as the quinta's name says, and the noise of the days starts to fall away. This isn't a studio in the middle of the city: it's a country house at the foot of the Sintra hills, and you feel it.

Where you practise

Classes take place in a little house at the far end of the quinta, quiet and full of light. Nature comes in through the windows: the wind in the trees, the birds, the green outside. The silence isn't empty, and it's what lets the practice happen. If you have your own mat, bring it. And if you don't, no problem: I have mats, blankets and props for everyone.

Yoga and staying at the quinta

Quinta do Pé Descalço is also a guesthouse, run by me and Ricardo. That opens a lovely possibility: you can combine the classes with a stay and be right here, without leaving. You wake up in the countryside, have a good breakfast with local produce, practise yoga two steps from your room, and have the pool for the rest of the day. For groups, you can book the whole quinta and put together something tailor-made: a yoga weekend with friends, a small retreat. If it appeals to you, get in touch.
